A few years ago we lost my nan, she was the head of our family and for many of us our best friend too, we were all devastated. Amongst many other things nan was a great ‘traditional’ cook and baker. over the next few weeks I plan to share some recipes from nans recipe collection. this particular recipe is a delicious crumble in the mouth chocolate and coconut treat. I had actually intended to alter the recipe slightly to make it a little less crumbly but my taste testers (my 3 year old son, 5 year old niece and 7 year old nephew) insisted the ‘crumbles’ are the best bit.. especially with yummy ice cream!
You will need
85g Brown sugar
170g Self Raising flour
1 Tablespoon of Cocoa
Slowly melt the margarine using a saucepan on a hob
Remove the Margarine from the hob and fold in all of the dry ingredients
Spread across a swiss roll tin (we didn’t have a swiss roll tin to hand so we used our heart shaped cake tin)
Bake at 180 Degrees for around 20 minutes or until the top is crisp.
Melt your chocolate and use a spoon to drizzle the chocolate over the top
Leave to cool for a few hours then cut into fingers or squares
