Paper plate baby unicorn

paper plate baby unicorn

Remember I said there might be an influx of unicorn crafts? well here is another one! I’ve been trying to draw out posting them so my feed isn’t just pure unicorns but my niece and I made so many different unicorn crafts the other week that I’m still only half way through! This paper plate baby unicorn is pretty cute though and they were easy enough for my niece to make without any help at all which is a bonus for all the parents working from home right now. All you have to do is oversee to check scissor safety. Of course smaller children might need a lot more help – like my 4yo did.

You will need

  • Paper plate
  • Black and white card
  • Colured paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

From your white card, cut out two large pointy ears. Using your pink paper, cut out two smaller inner ears. Now cut out your rounded unicorn horn from your coloured card. Glue your inner ear pieces down on your outer ears, then secure your ears and horn in place on the back of your paper plate.

Now to make the eyes; cut out two large black circles and two rounded white hearts. Glue the hearts down on the circles and then stick the circles down in place on your paper plate.

Cut out a big pink oval for the nose and glue it down on the bottom of the plate; underneath your unicorn’s eyes. Now take your coloured paper and cut out several small strips to make the mane, glue them down around the upper rim of the plate; below the ears and horn.
